CONCLUSION.
POLYNOMIAL
- only good for slowly varying baselines.
- Fast.
LINEAR PREDICTION
- works well only for simple baselines.
- very slow for complex spectra.
MEDIAN EXTREMA
- fast and general.
- occasional peak distortion.
- problems at edges of spectra or when baseline
information is limited.
MAXIMUM ENTROPY INITIAL POINT
- works well if distortion is in early point of fid.
- independent of spectrum complexity.
MAXIMUM ENTROPY SIMULATION
- the most flexible and reliable method.
- but slower than polynomial and median methods.
- gives additional information i.e. deconvolution.
